Create a breathtaking tapestry of soft spring colour with our Lilac Morning Mixture, a beautifully curated blend of spring-flowering bulbs in harmonious shades of lilac, lavender, purple and soft pink.

Carefully selected to flower together, this stunning mixture has been designed to produce a layered display, with bulbs flowering at varying heights to create depth, texture and natural movement throughout the garden. The combination of delicate pastel tones evokes the freshness of a spring morning, making it perfect for adding elegance and tranquillity to borders, beds and containers.

Ideal for gardeners who love a coordinated display without the effort of choosing individual varieties, this collection is equally at home in formal planting schemes, cottage gardens or naturalistic drifts. Planted in generous groups, the flowers create a spectacular display that will return each spring with colour and charm.

Supplied as a pack of 50 premium-quality bulbs, this mixture is ideal for filling borders, creating colourful swathes through lawns or under deciduous trees, or bringing beautiful spring colour to large patio containers.

A wonderful choice for attracting early pollinating insects while providing weeks of reliable spring colour.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant the bulbs in autumn (September–December) while the soil is cool and workable. This allows the bulbs to establish strong roots before flowering the following spring.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with well-drained soil. This mixture is perfect for borders, beds, containers, beneath deciduous trees and naturalised planting schemes.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) deep, depending on bulb size.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs around 8–10 cm (3–4 inches) apart for a full display.
  • Soil Prep: Improve heavy soils with compost and horticultural grit to ensure good drainage.

Watering:
Water well after planting to settle the soil. Once established, the bulbs generally require little additional watering except during prolonged dry periods.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Remove faded flowers where appropriate, but allow all foliage to die back naturally before cutting it away.
  • The leaves feed the bulbs, helping to produce flowers the following spring.
  • An annual mulch of compost will help keep the soil healthy and encourage reliable flowering.

Top Tip:
For the most natural-looking display, scatter the bulbs across the planting area and plant each one where it lands. This creates beautiful flowing drifts of spring colour.
