Narcissus Meylor

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Narcissus bulbs in autumn, ideally between September and November, before the ground freezes and while the soil remains workable.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil. Daffodils are ideal for borders, containers, lawns, orchards and naturalising beneath deciduous trees.

How to Plant:

• Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) deep.
• Spacing: Space bulbs about 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) apart.
• Soil Prep: Improve poor soils with compost or well-rotted organic matter. Add grit to heavy clay soils to improve drainage.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. During spring, water only during prolonged dry periods.

Aftercare Tips:

• Allow foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks after flowering.
• Deadhead spent flowers to prevent seed production.
• Apply a balanced fertiliser after flowering to encourage strong bulbs for the following year.

Top Tip:
Plant in generous drifts amongst blue Muscari or white Tulips for an elegant spring display with beautiful colour contrast.
