Richly coloured, wonderfully fragrant and full of character, Narcissus 'Kedron' is an exceptional Jonquilla Daffodil (RHS Division 7) renowned for its unique blend of warm spring colours and sweet perfume.

Each elegant bloom features soft apricot-yellow to pale amber petals, beautifully contrasted by a vivid deep orange-red trumpet that intensifies as the flowers mature. The striking combination of warm pastel petals and fiery central cup gives 'Kedron' a distinctive appearance that stands apart from more traditional daffodils.

Flowering from mid to late spring, this award-winning variety produces several highly fragrant flowers on each slender stem, filling the garden with the classic sweet scent that makes Jonquils so treasured. The narrow, rush-like foliage adds graceful texture to borders and containers, while the long-lasting blooms make excellent cut flowers.

Like all Jonquilla daffodils, 'Kedron' thrives in sunny positions with good drainage and will naturalise readily, gradually forming larger clumps with each passing year. It combines beautifully with tulips, muscari and other late spring bulbs, adding warmth and fragrance to the garden.

An elegant and distinctive daffodil that offers superb colour, perfume and garden performance.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Narcissus bulbs in autumn, ideally between September and November, before the ground freezes and while the soil remains workable.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil. Jonquilla daffodils thrive in sunny borders, containers, gravel gardens and naturalised areas where drainage is good.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs about 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) apart.
  • Soil Prep: Improve poor soils with compost or well-rotted organic matter. In heavy soils, add grit to improve drainage.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Once established, water only during prolonged dry periods in spring.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Allow foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks after flowering.
  • Remove spent flower heads to prevent seed production.
  • Feed after flowering with a balanced fertiliser to encourage strong bulbs for the following spring.

Top Tip:
Plant near paths, patios or entrances where the sweet fragrance can be enjoyed, and combine with blue Muscari or purple Tulips to highlight the glowing orange-red cups.
