Elegant, graceful and wonderfully eye-catching, Tulipa 'Dynasty' is a superb Triumph Tulip prized for its large, silky blooms that gently change colour as they mature. Opening in soft ivory-white with delicate blush-pink edges, the flowers gradually deepen to rich rose-pink, creating a beautiful two-tone effect that evolves throughout the flowering season.

The perfectly formed, goblet-shaped blooms are carried on strong, weather-resistant stems, making 'Dynasty' an exceptionally reliable performer in the spring garden. Its refined colouring lends itself to both contemporary and traditional planting schemes, where it pairs beautifully with deep purple tulips, white narcissi and blue Muscari.

Flowering in mid-spring, this elegant variety reaches around 45–55cm in height, making it perfect for borders, patio containers and cutting gardens. The sturdy stems and long-lasting blooms also make outstanding cut flowers, bringing soft spring colour and elegance indoors.

Whether planted in generous drifts or as part of a sophisticated colour scheme, Tulipa 'Dynasty' offers timeless beauty, dependable performance and an ever-changing display of colour.

Planting Instructions

When to Plant:

Plant Tulip bulbs in autumn, ideally from October to December, once the soil has cooled. Planting later in autumn helps reduce the risk of tulip diseases and encourages healthy spring flowering.

Where to Plant:
Choose a position in full sun or partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil. 'Dynasty' is ideal for borders, patio containers, cutting gardens and formal bedding displays.

How to Plant:

  • Depth: Plant bulbs approximately 15 cm (6 inches) deep.
  • Spacing: Space bulbs 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) apart.
  • Soil Prep: Improve heavy soils with compost and, if necessary, add horticultural grit to improve drainage.

Watering:
Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Once established, tulips generally only require watering during prolonged dry spells in spring.

Aftercare Tips:

  • Remove faded flowers once blooming has finished.
  • Allow the foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks after flowering so the bulbs can store energy for the following year.
  • Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring to encourage healthy growth and vibrant blooms.

Top Tip:
Plant 'Dynasty' alongside deep purple tulips such as 'Negrita' or pure white varieties for an elegant spring display. As the flowers mature from ivory-white to rich pink, they create a constantly changing display of colour.
