These plants flower profusely and continuously from June to October. Probably the hardiest member of the family, we grow these outside here on the Nursery in Somerset, and one could get away with growing them outside in colder areas of the UK, especially where it is drier in winter. Glowingly violet-purple flowers, with hundreds of stems on established plants providing colour for about 5 months. From divisions.

RHS Award of Garden Merit.

This plant/cultivar has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.

Planting Instructions

For sunny, well drained soil, 8"(20cm) apart or pot in gritty soil. Probably the hardiest of all the Tulbaghias, grown outside in Somerset with a winter mulch.
