Flowering late in the summer and then into the early autumn with ghostly green spikes in bud turning to creamy white flower heads, the last flower stems bravely resisting any early frosts and lovely in the early autumn when the spent flower stems provide natural scaffolding for splendid spider’s webs. Divisions from field grown stocks.
Good drainage needed, they dislike waterlogging. Best in fairly full sun and in warmer soils. Plant them in good conditions, water as necessary to establish them in the late spring and early summer, remember some slug deterrents, such as sheep's wool around the area and wait for the summer flourish. If you are planting more than one, plant them about 14" (34cm) apart, and if different varieties a little further away from one another.
