Veronica ‘Ulster Dwarf Blue’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial that produces densely packed spikes of clear, bright blue flowers through summer, sitting neatly above fresh green foliage. It’s a brilliant front-of-border plant, perfect for pollinator-friendly gardens, edging, rockeries and containers—small in size, big on impact. Regular deadheading helps keep the display going for longer, and its tidy habit makes it an easy fit in both cottage and modern planting schemes.
When to Plant:
Plant bare roots in autumn or spring when the soil is workable, avoiding periods of frost or waterlogging.
Where to Plant:
Choose a spot in full sun (best flowering) or light/partial shade with moist but well-drained soil. Veronica spicata is ideal for front-of-border planting, rockeries, gravel gardens (with some moisture), and pots and containers.
How to Plant:
Watering:
Water well after planting. Keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes. Once settled, it’s fairly resilient, but will flower best if watered during prolonged dry spells.
